Sustain the World is funded by contributions from people just like you!

What is Sustainability?

Sustainability is the responsible use of natural resources; finding food and resources within a 100 mile radius of your home; and treading with a gentle footprint in your local ecosystem.

We would not be facing the dire circumstance of global warming if humanity lived sustainably. In fact, we can reverse climate change by adopting a more resilient and sustainable lifestyle!

This past winter, I kept the thermostat in my apartment at 55 degrees (and I live in the mountains of NY!) and wore sweaters and blankets, and worked out when it got too cold. The reading on my meter is significantly less than those around me, and I can't begin to imagine how much money they spent on heating costs.... my conservative bills were horrific!

welcome to sustain the world

In the recent past, the sustainability movement was considered a fringe element. Today, sustainability is a household word, and communities across the nation are taking the initiative to become known as Sustainable.

It's our goal to bring people from around the world together to find creative ways to use SUSTAINABILITY to combat Climate Change.

Less is More

If your first question is, "Do my actions really matter?" the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES!

As you begin to study the effects of Climate Change, you realize that more-developed countries pollute much more than less-developed countries. Most people with a computer and internet access who are able to view this website fall into the category of "more developed" and are able to do many things to reduce their carbon footprint.

LESS IS MORE applies to health, energy, consumerism, travel, fossil fuel usage and many other aspects of your life.

Download our free e-Book: 10 Easy Steps to Sustainability (PDF), which gives you an ideal starting point for your "climate change makeover."

But there's one thing you can do beginning right now, as the perfect beginning to your sustainability journey. It's simple, easy, free, and extremely effective: CONSERVE! Turn off lights; turn down the heater or AC; install energy efficient lights, make less trips into town... these little actions of conservation are BY FAR the most effective way for individuals to make a difference in the reduction of carbon in our atmosphere. Think about the effect of billions of people being more conscious of their energy usage! It's very powerful.
